In contrast, a week after they initiated a similar campaign following the Haitian earthquake in January, 2010, more than $3.5 million had been raised. Agrell (2010) reported that one week after launching a fundraising effort to help these victims, a coalition of Canadian charities has raised merely $200,000. In August, 2010, charities were attempting to raise funds to help victims of devastating floods in Pakistan. ![]()
